I don’t know if there is a holiday more associated with sweets and desserts than Halloween. From the old days of ringing doorbell-to-doorbell to fill your pillowcase with candies from neighbors, to the safer modern-day alternatives like ‘Trunk or Treats,’ this holiday revolves around sugary indulgences.
Halloween is also a huge money maker for anyone in the business of making and providing any kind of treats. And not only candy, but companies offering costumes and really anything that’s orange, black or has spiders and witches will cash in on this consumer holiday.
What’s great for retailers and marketers is that Halloween isn’t just for kids. Many offices or adult gatherings will host a Halloween party and
include treats to celebrate properly. Plus, who doesn’t want a perfect excuse to dress up and have some fun.
Krispy Kreme- the doughnut maker who is no stranger to running a good deal for customers, is now introducing Halloween-themed doughnuts and beverages to its line-up.
Available now at participating Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in the U.S. and Canada until Oct. 31 will be the: Zombie Doughnuts, Pumpkin Doughnut, Spider Web Doughnut and Caramel Apple Chiller.
That’s not all. The company is also encouraging social media use and asking consumers to share Halloween moments using the hashtags #Scungry and #KrispyKreme. The “Scungry” tag describes exactly what its new line of doughnuts offers – a combination of scary and hungry.
Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts commented, “Whether our guests are visiting a haunted house or planning a Halloween party, these fun flavors make for a delicious way to celebrate this October.”
