RiskIQ announced today that it has appointed a new chief marketing officer. The company deals with cybersecurity and helps organizations discover, understand and mitigate known, unknown and malicious exposures across the Web, mobile and social digital channels. Due to the importance of this field, RiskIQ needed to make sure it hired someone with relevant experience in both the cybersecurity and marketing industries.
After much deliberation, RiskIQ decided to add Scott Gordon to its team as the new CMO. In this role, Gordon will be responsible for accelerating the company’s global go-to-market strategy, branding and sales enablement.
Based on his past experiences, Gordon is more than qualified for the position. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience and accomplishments in global tech marketing to the role, which is exactly what the company was looking for. Over the years, Gordon has designed successful strategies, achieved results and built organizations for many well-known cybersecurity brands.
More specifically, Gordon recently worked as the CMO for ForeScout Technologies, where he developed strong positioning, visibility and an aggressive go-to-market strategy that helped propel the company as leader in network access control and security orchestration. This experience directly qualifies him for what he will be doing at RiskIQ. He has also held executive and management roles at AccelOps, Protego, Axent and McAfee.
RiskIQ is excited about bringing Gordon onto the team: “Our company continues to attract high caliber industry talent, and Scott's leadership, creativity and experience will play an instrumental role as we grow our market presence and further sales momentum,” said Elias Manousos, co-founder and CEO of RiskIQ. “We welcome Scott to our executive team and look forward to expanding our market footprint and providing our customers best-in-class solutions to overcome external threats.”
Meanwhile, Gordon demonstrated how qualified he is for the role by discussing the importance of cybersecurity: “As companies innovate Web, social and mobile means to engage with their customers, partners and employees, threat actors will prey on business exposures and brands to capture user’s trust, access credentials and sensitive data. This requires organizations to extend their security programs to monitor and mitigate threats outside the firewall…RiskIQ’s platform and market opportunity are extremely compelling. I am excited to be a part of this new digital defense transformation and look forward to contributing to RiskIQ’s team.”
